The Friends of Fort Defiance met on August 9th. Continued plans for the upcoming BBQ were made, Plans for having soldiers, a hospital, country Dr., wash day re-enacting, bonnet making, cartridge making were firmed up. Duties were delegated for preparing for the picnic.
